Taking my my little boy for our annual father son get away this weekend. Going to do a little shrimping and also catch some spottail. Most likely going to fishing structure back in the creeks. Question is what tide should we be fishing? I remember last year fishing and it turned on like a light switch when the tide turned to come back in.
I may have answered my own question but wanted some advice.
The tide stages don’t really matter much as long as the water is moving. There is usually a lull in the bite at high water and low when the current is slack. I tend to fish up in the creeks around low water and the edges of larger rivers on high water. Current movement is the key. Fish feed on both.

outgoing tide and fish in front of creek mouths. This time of year fish will stack up feeding on all the bait as it is being pushed back out of the grass. About an hour after dead high tide is when you will start to hear and see reds start to make their exit from the grass
