I know where I’m fishing this weekend! I"ve been out of town cleaning out a passed relatives house and I need some excitement!

I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you!

My thoughts exactly. I don’t know anything about SC property, but in Georgia the land owner only owns to the mean high tide line. The state owns the rest.

I hope SC never follows the VA decision. Waterways need to ALWAYS remain part of the public trust.

I spoke to DNR about walking, poling a flooded marsh flat. If it is not a King’s Grant, and you access by water, it is the peoples land.
It is game on.
However, last weekend one of my favorite docks had it’s Owner fishing with his son. I gave it a wide margin and passed.
Lets still use common good manners and sense.

I’ve been fishing long enough and know enough spots that there’s no reason to crowd someone else who got there before you.

So you’re saying this ISN’T the only dock that holds fish? I’ve been waiting for the Holy Grail dock post for 4 years now!
Where are the others? Peapod won’t fish with me.

- We all knew that; you can tell from most responses to the sillyness that you posted. You obviously did not know the law.

- Most seasoned fisherman do use common sense and wouldn’t go near someone that was fishing like that. You should give anyone fishing a spot a 100 yard buffer IMHO.

you can see the holy grail doc in a couple of my videos. Fished a particular dock 4 years in all seasons and it never let me down… just had to know when in the tide cycle it was productive.

Capt Mitch has graciously shared some of his spots with me over the last few years. Out of respect for that, I stay away from those spots altogether. Im not going to be that guy that gives away one of someone else’s honeyholes to some johnnycomelately. And make no mistake, Capt Mitch is a blast to fish with and will wear out the reds.
Speaking of guide scouting, I’ve had the same guide approach me twice while I was wading and ask if I minded if he fished close to me. I certainly appreciate the courtesy in asking, but there’s about a thousand places to catch fish in the areas where I wade.
this gratuitous, obsequious prose will not be tolerated. I am alerting Mitch to this.
and can we get back on topic. can i fence in the marsh behind my house you know to keep the tresspassers out?

I’ve had a few people tell me they were going to call the cops for me fishing in “their marsh”… told them to go make the call, their yelling was disturbing my fishing

That’s funny!
Can you imagine the 911 call:
911 Operator “911, what’s your emergency?”
Pissed off homeowner: “there’s a guy fishing in the marsh outside my house and I’d like a police officer to come tell him to get off my marsh”
