Long time listener, first time caller…
While paddling around through the spartina on yesterday’s high tide, I saw about 4 red drum swim lazily under my boat in a span of about 20 minutes. Needless to say, I’m going back today. The only problem is that the water was too deep to see them tailing, so I’m going to cast blind. Here’s the question: weedless gold spoon or red/brown Gulp! shrimp on a weighted hook?
Thanks!
Gold spoon with a chartreuse trailer works pretty well for me.

Just got back. EXCELLENT advice. You use it year 'round, or just in the fall?

When you guys talk about “spoons” I assume you are talking about something like a Johnson Silver minnow type spoon. Is that correct? What size and is weedless recommended?
Do you fish a slow steady retrieve or bounce it off the bottom?
