I spend most of my time in the creeks chasing redfish and trout (and lately toadfish lol) but was thinking of trying my hand at fishing for kings off the jetties.
Any advice for someone looking to net some menhaden? What am I looking for? Jumping fish? Bait balls on the sonar? Birds?
Appreciate any help!
Mike
Baitballs of them off the beach are common
Pelicans will clue you in, once in the area, look for small flips/splashes…if it’s calm you can shut the motor off and listen for them flipping then head over and bust them. In front of Morris island is a common spot to find them…
You will normally hear them, before you see them. Once you recognize the flip sound it is easy after that. Should be good schools of fish in front of Morris Island
