We went back out to a different spot this afternoon with minimal expectations since the wind was blowing harder than I prefer to hunt squirrels. Set up in 3 different spots and at 5:15 the winds died down and we could hear 1 squirrel softly letting out a single bark. Deciding that he was not worth waiting I told my daughter let’s hurry back to the first set up before it’s too late. She agreed and off we went. 5:45 and the wind was dead calm, set up in the first location and immediately started seeing squirrels. My daughter started pointing at 8 different squirrels before I could get settled in on one. 2 did the trust fall off the tree and the squirrels started realizing that they were about to come face to face with an accurate lead slinger with one thing on his mind…rack another round cause another squirrel is trying to get a nut!!! All in all you can’t make memories on the couch and you can’t teach kids woodsmanship on the couch playing on a cell phone!
Amen. Good stuff
Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.
