SST, such a strange year.

Was just figuring it was going to be late this year, but here it is tha last of may and still have not seen a decent eddie break off the stream and wash over the gth like usual.

Gonna be a slow summer, imo.

.

Uhh, why were you figuring it was going to be late this year?

I would venture to say it has already come and gone:

Inside the stream has already heated up. Good luck.

For a lot of the ones who fish out of georgetown and Murrells inlet, they really heavily on fish that are broken off the stream and caught in the big Eddie that pushes in past the gth and setttles between there and the scarp. That did not happen in may this year. There is still a chance, but it is slim and the number of fish associated with it will be low. These fish tend to become “resident” and are associates with live bottom and on some years good numbers get pushed right on in to 110’.
A lot of boats rarely fish further than a few miles past the hole and I just don’t see that fishery being very strong this year as most of the migratory fish have moved past.

.

We have been screwed this year, but a lot of us have pushed out to Bubble Rock and beyond. Long day, and makes for a sore day after.
