St. Croix Mojo Bass or Shimano Clarus?

I’m looking for a baitcasting rod to throw spinnerbaits for reds. The St. Croix I’m looking at is 7 ft MH and a fast tip. I would be looking at a similiar Clarus. Do any of you have any opinions of the two? Thanks.

I have had 6 Claruses and loved them all. I use a 6’6" medium weight, fast action as my primary rod for everything and it’s brought in huge rays and big bonnetheads along with big ole sheeps and all kinds of other large fish. They’re very sensitive and have a lot of back bone. Don’t forget about the bangup warranty they’ve got too. I haven’t found a type of (inshore) fishing I haven’t used this rod for yet. Break it and you get a brand new rod! They’re nice and easy on the wallet for a high quality rod.

I dropped my old one off a kayak this summer and was shopping for a new rod as well. It came down between the St. Croix and Clarus. I wanted to try something new with the St. Croix but their warranty isn’t worth a **** compared to Shimano’s

Every piece of tail you turn down is a piece of tail you didn’t get.

I have fished both and they are very good rods. The Mojo is heavier than the Clarus. Can’t go wrong with either.

I bought the Clarus today. I like it.

Actually, they are both good rods. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one.

Excuses? I’ve heard them all!
