anyone going to St. Helena Sat. We are planning to shrimp the incoming Sat. if we can handle the 10-15 mph. winds
I thought about it, but wind that strong from the west on an incoming would have my spot screwed up. Probably won’t be able to stand up in the boat. Outgoing would be better.

Since it was going to be a 11 a.m. low and boat can’t go on flat with water that low. we have opted to try the incoming but know it will be rough out there. Wind will be at our backs with the incoming pushing against the boat.
Heads up boys. We hit the St Helena sound on Wednesday afternoon and crushed it. 48 quarts of large and jumbo. The black pearl was surrendering booty. Keep in mind I am the greatest shrimper ever born and raised in Kentucky, but I still feel obligated to let y’all in. Seriously, it was one of the best looking full coolers of all time. It exploded at high tide. Good times.
I’m posting the pic of our best one throw. Some serious protein.

I hate you by the way. Every time I get a day off the weather sucks. I went twice and only have about 14qts of tails to show for it. Some of them were worth heading…

I know what you mean Tigerfin. 3 weeks of rain had me rattled. But they are out there now. I’m about to fill the freezer.

By the way, I just noticed that shrimp in the photo doing a back flip trying to escape. Cheeky bastard!

Awesome! Great job guys! Being on the water is a Blessing, catching shrimp is a bonus!

Made the trip Sat. and the water was the roughest I have seen on the sound. Set up on the edge of the flat and caught a few. Waited for the tide to cover the flat and moved to our normal spot. Caught a half cooler and gave up because of the wind. Net man was totally worn out. Still catching shrimp when we pulled the poles.
