St John fishing?

Anyone fished the Virgin Islands this time of year? Leaving Saturday for St John, staying in Cruz Bay specifically. What bottom fish would be caught this time of year?

Dang I love St John, wish I was going.
I don’t know about this time of year, but in the summer you can tear em up with a pearl gulp jerkshad on a pink or white jighead. I caught plenty of strawberry grouper with some yellowtail and mangies thrown in last summer.

I’d love to hear some info also as I’ll be visiting St John soon (and staying in the same area)

I’ll post what I find fishing wise when I get back from the trip.

I lived in Cruz Bay for six months about 15 years ago. I worked as a cook a Canel Bay Resort. We had all the local dolphin we wanted and then some all winter long. One of the guys I worked with also worked a charter boat. Apparently there is a limit to the amount you as the customer can keep. He would take charters out, fill the boat with dolphin, give the customer the amount they were permitted to keep and sell the rest to the restaurant. Pretty sweet gig. They also caught a lot of bill fish and tuna but mostly dolphin.

Larry’s Landing and Beach Bar are awesome in Cruz Bay. Go to the other side of the island and hit Skinny Legs. If you can, go to Yost Van Dyke and hit The Soggy Dollar. The Baths on Virgin Gorda are really cool too.

I am jealous just thinking about it…

Some got to win, some got to lose…

Yep thanks, was planning on all of the above. The baths look awesome, but then again, it all looks pretty awesome.
