St lucia

I’m goin to st Lucia at the end of May on our honeymoon and was wondering if anyone has fished w anyone down there and enjoyed the boat and crew. We don’t want to get caught up in the tourist trap type stuff. Thanks

Ask your cabbie. My wife and I fished on a boat out of Soufriere that a cab driver recommended. It was a no frills half-day trip. just packed a lunch and a few beers from the resort. We ended up having a great time. Can’t remember the name of the outfit, but nice boat, captain and mate. Ended up catching my first marlin that day.

Wife and I went to St Lucia for the honeymoon and caught the tourist trap offshore trip. 3 barracudas and 6 beers later we got off the boat, all they did was pull small feathers. Do some research before hand we didn’t and let the resort book it for us.

Beautiful island, also went there for honeymoon. We stayed on the southwest end of the island near Soufriere. Didn’t do any fishing but saw some boats at the marina that looked like charters, and based on the amazing variety of fish we saw snorkeling right off the beach at our resort I bet the fishing is awesome! If you’re into diving, then you probably already know its a huge draw there too.

I would think the resort should be able to recommend a reputable company, but as Flat Bottom pointed out maybe not. Definitely a lot of tourist traps of all sorts, just be careful if venturing out on your own around town.

we didnt fish, but, if you see the tour guide that is really highly rated on trip advisor, i bet he can give you a guide or two. I think his slogan was under the almond tree or something like that, best tour guide experience we’ve ever had.
