Well were back, took the wife to the islands for a week and decided to charter a boat in St. Maarten. Good Capt., mate was new but did a good job, but it is very slow down there right now. We trolled from St. Maarten to St. Barts & back, 6 Cuda and 1 dolphin, and she got off at the transom. It was nice though, letting someone else do all the work for a change. Drinking Rum, eating conch, conk, you know the shell, fritters, draggin’ lines through 500’ of water within sight of the beach was nice, but thier fishing aint got nothing on ours. Can’t wait to go now that we are home.

I think that the “h” is silent in the word “coch”.
OK Sailfish, I typed too fast on that one, NO… is was the shell Conch, not what you were thinking.

Sea Baby, It is nice, their weather is a lot like ours, hot & humid. We stayed on the Dutch side, great food, shopping, diving, fishing, sight seeing, etc. Plenty to do there. There is a marlin tourny there in July, will be crowded I’m sure. Have fun & take plenty of cash. An 11.27oz can of coke is $3.00!

great snorkeling around the french west indes. went last june to st. barts. my friend chartered a boat for us and had a blast. gin clear h20 w/ every kind of sea life you can imagine. actually got to see a cuda blow up some baitfish in 4’ of water. swam w/ turtles/bat rays.the place is insane. as capt. said bring lots of cash$$$$$. we were lucky that our friends had a place there a took good care of the wife and i. had lunch at nikki beach and w/ wine and cocktails the bill was around $300. FOR LUNCH!!! the topless women helped ease the pain though.
definately bring the mirrored shades.
