St. Pete open

One of my fishing partners is in the weigh in line for the St. Pete Open spearfishing tournament. He’s got a heck of a hogfish to weigh in!!

That’s a good one, we just got back from St. Pete today, I wanted to stay down for the weigh in but needed to get back, to get on the road again tomorrow. They run about as far if not further than we do usually out of Johns Pass to get on fish. I was talking with a guy at the shop about running 150+ miles multi-day trips to marlin and yellowfin fish.

It made me want to spend a few days on the other side of the stream here.

Hey Larry, I sent you a private message, or at least I think I did…

Sorry for my slow response. Busy weekend. PM replied to.

Nice fish for your friend! He got almost as much snow on the roof as I do, show them young bucks a thing or two!

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

I’ve got snow on the roof too

The hogfish was 19.7 pounds. Took 4th place overall.

I think those are some cool looking fish. I hope to one day hit Sellsfish and may get lucky enough that he has some fillets. I know they are a little high but you get what ya pay for. I love grilled Trigger fish so I hope he may have those as well.
