What length do you recommend. Have been using an anchor but having problems with placement. When I drop the anchor I dont end up where I want to be. Boat will drift from where I dropped the anchor until the rope is all the way tight. This has gotten annoying. Figure a pole may be the solution.
Depends upon where/what depth you regularly fish. I have an 8’ that works for me though I also use a small grappling anchor and have no problems with it along with an anchor trolley.

Use it for local rivers and creeks only.
I’ve got a 7-footer that works great around here…
I could shorten the rope but dont want to do that in case Im ever am in deep water. But I dont need half the length of the rope.

Cleat it off to the length you need?
