Just a head’s up to those of you who anchor in shallow water and don’t want to drop the $$$ on a Powerpole. I have these YakAttack Park-N-Poles (6’ and 8’) that I normally use for kayak fishing. I decided to give them a try for the first time with my 16’ High Tide Flats and was pleasantly surprised at how well they worked especially on soft bottoms in strong current and dealing with boat wakes. Quick and quiet to jam in the ground and hold position at a creek mouth.
Picture is from a family trip to a sandbar with both bow and stern staked out.
I guess I’m slow on the uptake, but I don’t know why I didn’t think of it till now.
Here’s another tip: Mark them in 6"-1’ increments with a silver sharpie to confirm water depth or measure fish.
My father has a “Stick It Anchor Pin” that I was able to compare. It’s heavier, and unlike the ParkNPole doesn’t float, but they make them in larger sizes. Either should work well with fairly light weight boats. Give 'em a try.
