Well I see Yeti hasn’t retracted their original statement to the NRA so I assume it’s true what the NRA said about them. Very disappointing to me. I also see RTIC, Ozark, Pelican and others are jumping all over Yeti and have announced donations to the NRA for each sale of a cooler, 20% off coolers and other promotionals to support the NRA and the second Amendment. I disagree with some that this will not affect Yeti’s bottom line long-term. Just would have never expected this from Yeti. Oh well, so many other choices out there!
I cant understand what YETI is thinking ? The NRA gives them first pick at the Great American Outdoor show in Harrisburg PA and has given them the opportunity to build their name there. People are finding out that the lower cost coolers do the same thing
I have a .357 for anyone who wants to walk through my front door unannounced, and and shotgun for sports and I
give zero sh*ts about the NRA or YETI, either way.
No matter how many variables I have control over, I never expect a bite. I only hope.

Why would Yeti retract their statement? Unless I missed something new that transpired, Yeti was clear in that they didn’t “drop” the NRA like the NRA has claimed. They simply dropped old discount programs and offered new/restructured discount programs to the NRA and several other organizations.
It’s no hair off my back either way. I’m a life member of the NRA and I own several Yeti products. Like others on here, I’ve used other products and I’ve found Yeti to meet my expectations of what a high-end (extreme as some call it) cooler should do.
One thing I do find funny though is some of the people jumping all over Yeti for their apparent lack of the 2A (which I have yet to see where that has materialized outside of the NRA’s false claims) are some of the same people that were lambasting the NRA for not defending the 2A when government went after bump stocks and the NRA didn’t come to the defense. Just goes to show that people will go out of their way to spit hate and be angry at something/someone.
Personally I believe people are making a mountain out of a mole hill. If you have nothing better to get worked up over than who your favorite cooler company supports, count yourself lucky. And before some wet end tries t
I am an RTIC guy. I got a YETI cooler bag years back for Christmas and it work great on the boat. You want a good cooler to stand on as a casting platform RTIC, Calcutta and Ozark will all get the job done at a cheaper price line. They are all rotomolded and preform. Some argue after RTIC had to remodel after they lost the suit they now preform better. Who knows I think Yeti will be fine but their market will shift. Hippies and bonfires not bears and back country. Cant wait to see the new commercials!

My Dad always said “Son there is not a problem on this earth that can not be solved, with the right application of explosives” Thanks Dad. rest in peace
YETI severed ties with the NRA and is now engaging in damage control after a backlash from many of its customers. In early March, YETI refused to place a previously-negotiated order from NRA-ILA, citing ‘recent events’ as the reason – a clear reference to the tragedy in Parkland, Florida. YETI then delivered notice to the NRA Foundation that it was terminating a 7-year agreement and demanded that the NRA remove the YETI name and logo from all NRA digital assets, as well as refrain from using any YETI trademarks in future print material. YETI is trying to spin the story otherwise, those are the facts. While Yeti can change their story, but they can’t change the facts. Whether their changing story is due to the recent cancellation of the IPO from their New York City owners is a question only they can answer. — Marion P. Hammer.
I was concerned when I heard Yeti had dropped the NRA. I am biased as a proud NRA member. To me, they 1: fight for my right to own and use fire arms for protections. 2: Promote gun safety.
When I received my response back from Yeti my concerns subsided. Now I am more disappointed than originally. The old saying, " it’s not the crime but it is the cover up" comes to my mind. After some homework, Yeti was covering tracks with the “official statement”. They spend the bulk of the statement defending their love for kids in the outdoors and therefore the NRA’s accusations are “false”.
They started the separation from the NRA before the so called discontinuing of outdated discount agreements: They began by rejecting orders that were submitted under the same old terms stating “recent events” after the Florida school shooting.
I don’t like it when people disagree with my appreciation of the NRA but I understand and respect it. What I don’t like is when someone is pissing on me and at the same time trying to convince me it is raining.
I love we live in a country where we can disagree. I love that we live in a country that we can buy whatever product we want for what ever reason we want. I will be buying RTIC’s for birthday and Christmas gifts with notes similar to above. Please do your homework and make up your own mind on if Yeti is a victim or if they are playing damage control.
Thank you, I feel much better now.
Happy Fishing and God Bless America,

Yeti used to be cool when it was only used by a select handful of elite sportsman. But it has gotten to the point of non-outdoor Americans buying Yeti’s to try and be something they are not. Such as the white guy in the suburbs, pre-chilling a cooler for the neighborhood block party, strategically placing each piece of ice for cool points and all their glory. Nowadays anyone seen with a yet is judged, “does this person need ice 5 days” probably not, chances are “they are trying too hard”. An excuse I hear frequently for Yeti ownership, is “I won it in a raffle”, gee sure are a lot of raffles going on lately huh. It’s cool to be seen with a cheap cooler now days, like a Coleman. It is cool not to care about ice. Only fags worry about ice.
What’s worse, judging someone for owning a Yeti or making “an excuse for Yeti ownership”?
Personally, I’m a NRA Life Member AND I own several Yeti coolers and other Yeti products and I could give two craps about this whole situation. In my opinion, both entities handled the situation poorly. Either way, I could care less about their squabble. NRA is going to continue poor-mouthing its members for more money and Yeti is going to continue to sell expensive products. It should also be pointed out that Yeti hasn’t, isn’t and won’t be coming after our guns or the 2A. Either way, life within either company (make no mistake, the NRA is a company and is in the business of making money just like Yeti) is going to move forward without so much as a hiccup from this poorly-handled, over-hyped and blown WAAAY out of proportion situation. Only drama queens get their skirts blown up by BS like this.
After reading it several times and it retaining its ability to get me to laugh.
I approve, funny, funny, stuff. I heard someone call someone a ****** the other day and thought man its been a while since i heard someone call someone a ******. Its up there with the N word in terms of being offensive now a days.
Saw a few new yeti adds lately and they are definetly toward a new market. The i keep my 20$ 6 pack in my 10 day ice retaining cooler on my porch when i drink beer crowd has gotten yetis attention. Yetis the new designer picnic basket.
