Star-Tron/Ring Free

seels sells 12 oz ringfree for $21

so many stations sell pure gas now.
I was in one last week, guy was filling a boat tank with ethanol gas.
!!!

So Chris you would recommend Sea Foam over Star Tron for non-ethanol gas. How does the Sea Foam compare to Ring Free for decarbing? Also how does Sea Foam compare to the Red Stabil for preserving fuel that may sit for long periods?

yes
for non-E gas I would use seafoam to do a decarb for annual maint.
I would use ringfree plus, its got stabilizer and decarb built in, for daily treatment

So there you have your recommendation, from the man who won’t admit when he is wrong.

You should use Startron with ethanol free fuel. Period. Go to website and see for yourself, instead of “I saw it on the interet”(i.e. ChrisV)

mystarbrite.com/startron

Check frequently asked questions. It is all there from the manufacturer without all the B.S. and strained opinions.

Geez riflemann, you got stock in Startron or something? That’s a bit harsh isn’t it?

No, I don’t have stock in Starbrite Products, I just had a good experience using it last year.

As for Chris V. he seems to have quite an opinion of his opinions, I however rely on facts.

Startron was formulated before there was any ethanol fuel to damage our engines.

rifleman
looks to me like you are getting your “facts” from the manufacturers website
I have several hundred gallons of old bad gas here that hasn’t been picked up yet
startrons label claims it will restore old fuel
I will give you a tank full, and I will give you the suggested amount of startron, if you are willing to put it in your tank and run it.
I wont run it in my stuff, but feel free
my opinions are based solely only daily practical applications from running a boat dealership, and seeing what works and what doesn’t

claims are not facts, but as I said, im no checmist, and im wrong plenty of times, just ask my wife.

Im confused…I guess I need to buy some ring free…

side note my buddy just blew up an f250 yammi…the engine made oil?
seems like the oil after trolling in cold va water all winter diluted itself with about 2-3 qts of gas and it quit lubricating.I have no idea how a running engine can let that much gas past the rings…geez now it knocks and is getting a new powerhead.out of warranty…

Well I’ll tell you what, I’ll trust Chris V and all of his knowledge against rifleman and his Startron advertisement. Chris V has helped countless numbers or people here on CF (myself included) and I’ll go with what he says over what you read on a label or a website. He sees boats/motors everyday and that is how he makes his living. Anyone that believes something you can buy at Wal0-mart will “restore” old fuel is probably who Startron is looking for.

How about all the "facts" Chris sees everyday?

Thanks for all your help Chris, ignore that dude.

Think I would stick with a Guy that works with stuff I know nothing about.I trust Chris V and His opinion.Half the products i buy do not live up to what is printed on the label.I consider “V” and expert in His field and value His opinion.
