150 Evinrude. Decarbing the motor, using the starter motor a lot and recently the spline doesn’t pop all the way up to the flex plate but it spins just fine. The voltage going to the starter is fine. Looking at a new starter? Thanks

You can get a drive kit, will help. Make sure the shaft is Clean NO OIL or any such product. Completly Dry. Try cleaning it with some brake cleaner first before you go spending money on replacement parts.

load test the battery, check the conections then load test it thru the cables at the block, soiunds like you have a weak connection between teh battery and the starter.
