That’s why…Skiff’s don’t ooze expert

Same deal with guys and CC “striper” boats…the boat doesn’t mean you know how to catch a striper, just that you look like you do.

I don’t own a buff, does that mean I can’t purchase a $40K flats boat? …sad face.

I believe you would be busting your stated budget…however, buy a $40K fb and they may throw a buff in @ no charge.

good luck in your search

It is a great time to be looking, hunting season starting, economy is not stellar. We bought our older Hewes in October 3-years ago and more or less stole it from the previous owner. It needed a fair amount of work and the guy was looking for some cash to cover some other bills. It is a fine fishing machine now. Not a real skinny water boat like you are looking for, and not the easiest to pole, but well suited to the flats fishing we do.

Ha! Everyone needs a buff! Buy some freaking sunscreen!

I understand the statements around the fade of wearing buffs; but, on the logical side it’s better to wear a buff instead of coating your face with chemicals everytime you go out into the sun.

I concur, also when it is cold / windy…the thicker ones are great when you are hauling ass to your spot…screw getting wind burn all over the face…

take a look at that 15 footer Bulls Bay has. Really nice boat and I believe you could get it under 15k brand new. with trailer and all

Not a huge fan of that motor, but looks like a good deal to me.

A friend of mind bought a mitzi skiff from Cape Romain Marine.Rides great with a 60hp gets in 5 inches of water. check them out.

Fished one and liked it–seem to be very good deal or the money http://www.mitziskiffs.com/products/mitzi_17.php.

I would suggest not getting too small of a flats boat…the really small ones are not as enjoyable to fish. Can only take one person and as you walk around to cast the boat about tips in the water (on the small ones). The 17’ - 18’ get in plenty shallow water and are easy to pole, and make a much more stable fishing platform.

Maverick makes a nice 17 ft and hewes 16 or 18 are just plain sexy. they are great boats

A small fish in hand is better than big fish in thought

Check the classifieds on microskiff.com they have so many options though you may have to travel.
