Speaking of records, can you fight the fish from the rod holder? As long as only one person fights the fish? Or does it have to be stand up? (Planer/high speed rod for wahoo, etc)
I know it has to be caught R&R but never seen this part clarified.

not yet…But after 25 years of figuring out Hogfish…I got it! There is a lot of deep water that divers don’t get to plunder, and it is only a matter of time until I bust that big Alpha

State record they don’t ask…
World record i had to give the whole story and no you can not fight from rod holder,and they will want some line off the reel and the leader/rig you used…at the time i would have had a world record but the 130lb braid broke at like 145lbs and they only give5or10% cushion…but it would not have mattered less than a yr later a larger one was caught in Louisiana …
