Gonna miss you my friend. For the last several years, Tom has been a great (well, ok:smiley:) fishing partner, but much than that, my best friend. He is going to be moving back to Pittsburgh soon. I have protested greatly but looks like the wife won out over me!!! The nerve!!!Just wanted you other guys that know him and have fished with him to give him a really hard time! No, donāt do that - I know heād love to stay but sometimes you just have to do for your family.
Just wanted to say thanks for being my friend, picking me up outa the floor when I broke my leg and listening to me ramble about crap that really doesnāt matter. I am going to miss our Monday nights together, bsān with you and hanging out my brother. You have made a difference in my life and my wifes as well. May the good lord bless you and your family.
Man hate to hear that Tom.gonna miss ya for sure man.
I remember exchanging numbers on here with him when I first started. Made arrangements that we would both be on the water the next night. called me that night cause he was stranded the channel between pine/spence with a dead batteryā¦haā¦keep in touch tom and if u ever come back let me know your more than welcome on my boat.
Take it easy on those steelheads up there.
āAll fisherman lie. And if they say otherwise, then theyāre lyingā
Triton, believe me, I have given him enough grief for both of us, but like you said he has to do whatās best for his family. We have caught a few fish together but had a ton of laughs and fun doing it. He is a good man, but as a fellow āPittsburgherā I can understand the need to be up there closer to all of those Lombardiās! Hate to see him go, but really looking forward to the farewell party!
yup, we gotta do something.I know he would not want that butā¦Iām thinking the Spence islands where we have our little weigh in at. He doesnāt have any diffinitive timetable yet for himself but the wife and kids are short term from what he said. I donāt know how the economy is Pittsburgh for building engineers so it could be short or take awhile.
It will be a little while. I should be here for Timās turnover tournament at least. Sure will miss Lake Murray and all of the friends I have made here. Iāll have to travel about 3 hours to Raystown for my striper fix. Might have to buy a truckload of striper fry and sneak them into the three rivers.
I hate to see you go Tom but we expect to still hear a few fishing reports from youā¦I know they have internet up there lol⦠I have moved from South Carolina, then to North Carolina, then to Georgia and now back here again⦠I now have fishing buddies and fishing hot spots all over the southeastā¦lol Iām sure you will continue to accumulate more too and best of luck to youā¦
Team Shad Up & Fish
If youāve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcomeā¦
Iāve spent about 85% of my lifeās wages on fishing, the rest I just wastedā¦
yeah Tom, I certainly donāt like the idea of you leaving town. Maybe we can get a petition together for you to stay, but I understand the situation. Except for properly setting a drag, Iāve learned everything else I know about striper fishing from you over the last few years. You will be missed, but I know you will hit it hard in the time leading up to your departure.
Thanks, I will miss all of the friends I have met here.
Rick,
The 44" striper I got at the river my first week here got me hooked, you finished it off. Iāll definitely be going on some trips to Raystown with Steve
Well the upside is that you are going back to one of the best food cities in the country. Premanti, pizza and other great ethnic foods. It may be worth shoveling snow. Or not?
i knew that they would catch up with him sooner or later. that name change and location cannot last forever. ha ha. really though i will miss this man a lot. he has shown me a good bit about striper fishing. mainly how to ride around for an hour or so and then maybe catch one or two. also how to fish on one side of the boat because he puts the light on his side and calls it the captain side. but then again; it has all been worth it. we went last night and limited out between the two of us with some really nice fat fish. gonna miss the old bastard when he leaves but he aināt gone yet so we still have time to fish.good luck up in yankee land.
