Stereo opinions

I recently bought a new (to me) boat with a Fusion stereo…I really like the stereo, but I’m not to crazy about the speakers. I’ve got the bass boosted to 100%, mid-range to 70% and treble to -100% and they still sound like a tin can.

I went to West Marine the other day to do a hands on with the stereo and speakers. I really like the simplicity and functionality of the fusion unit, but the speakers were not the best. I made the mistake of listening to the $200 JL Audio speakers…

Oh well, I’ll live with the cheaper ones for now. I’m not trying to host a concert on the water, any way. I just want something to listen to while the time passes on the water.

(**(), I go to the water for peace and quite! Don’t want any noise, don’t turn on the vhf untill I need it. Just my 2 cents!

The speakers that come with the package units and the Sonic Hub are not very loud at all. I went with 8" Fosgate marine speakers connected to an amp. I just connect the phone to it and play away. Thing sounds phenomenal. I can hear tunes while running wide open with an old 2 stroke. Either go 4 premium 6.5" or 2 8" if you want have decent sound. You also need plenty of power to get the loudness and any kind of bass. Either from an amp, or powered head unit with 35W RMS or more.
