Stick It Anchor Pins

Are these any good? I can’t really justify a power pole right now and thought this might be a good option. I would appreciate anyone’s first hand knowledge.

i have a wang but in my opinion…nxt best thing to a power pole

I use the 12’ model for my Pathfinder 22 and it works great.

I’ve got 2 of them. Works great.

Love mine. I have a low railing around the bow. I keep a caribiner at each vertical post with the end of the stickit leash on my bow cleat. That way, I can ‘stickit’ and loop the leash through any of the beeners, and adjust the boat’s attitude in the current very easily.

I only have a 10’. It is as long as will fit on my gunnel. If you can fit longer, get longer.

Another cheaper option…buy an 8 foot galvanized ground rod at Home Depot, drill a hole in the blunt end big enough to attach a shackle, tie on 10-12 feet of nylon line…wahlaaa, home made cajun anchor and verrrry quiet. I’ve anchored in as much as 12’ of water…works like a champ on my Pathfinder.

I bought a 12’ stick of SS rod 5/8" thick. Cut it in half and welded a SS nut on the end of each section. Heavy enough to hold and super quiet. One for each end of the boat.

I love mine. I have the 8 ft Stick It and it is good for water 6 feet or shallower. Longer is better if you have room to keep it. I got the 8 ft for my Key West 1720 b/c I can lay it on the floor and don’t have to mess with mounting brackets on the side rail to hold it.

My friends make shallow water anchors local. Lowcountry Anchors.

Give them a shout, they work great…

I bought the 8’ and love it. Only wish I would have bought the 10’. It hold great and is much quicker than chunking a danforth everywhere I stopped at.

I have the 8 foot and love it. I also have the bracket. From what I read it works much better using the bracket than just tying a rope to it.

I have the stick it pin and the cajun anchor, and we use them both at the same time, we use the cajun anchor as the main hold, the, the stick it as a secondary to arrange the boat in the direction we want. If I was to buy one I would get the cajun anchor

Where does everyone store/stow these things?

It sounds like the 10’ gives you a little more capability. The 10’ comes in 2pc and 1pc. There is a pretty big price difference.

Question: Will the 2pc hold up at the joint?

I have a 17’ whaler and the pin looks like it will store between the gunnel and the rails.
