fished with marsha today. went to 226 hole as planned -pulled mostly small lures with ballyhoo- first fish of the day was a nice 150 class blue marlin-my first. thank you capt. marsha for putting me on it. had 2 more bills in the spread with no good hook-ups. boated 4 nice dlophin-3 bulls and 1 cow. no hoo or tuna. saw some pilot whales, sunfish, little tunny, stopped in 90 ft and boxed some nice knothead blackfish.
i think it was an outstanding first trolling trip for the year.
got home and wife had pan ready for some fresh phin.
caught the blue on a hood with hoo.
livin at the beach
Had a great crew yesterday and we sure had fun. First marlin of the year from my boat (and maybe out of Charleston). The dolphin were a nice surprise because I thought we’d be into the wahoo. But we did not have a wahoo strike, nor a BF strike. Anyway nice to fly the flag home.
Nice job Marsha, I was within shoutin’ distance of you when you called a release on the radio. I saw you start rolling back around and knew someone was hooked up. AWESOME job, glad to see it, even from a distance. We were on a 24’ Grady “SEA SMITH” and boxed some Dolphin and Wahoo. Great day, all fish in our boat were caught in 300’ or less. We pulled from East of 226 Hole back to 180’. Better than expected for first troll of the year, but still wished for more!! Saw water temp from 68 in close, to 73 out far. Funny part of our story was Dolphin caught on downriggers, and Wahoo caught on Outriggers!!
