Hope it goes back up or at least doesn’t go any lower. Concerned about raddady’s post regarding late January - early February and the impending cold wave. That could get ugly as water temps will definitely be lower when/if that happens.

No trout kill. I managed 18 trout today in just a couple of hours. The presentation had to be ultra slow but at least they were active enough to eat. I saw 52.8 by 3:30pm on the flats and 49.6 on the main waterway.
I received a report of 72 dead or dying trout from Wimbee Creek here in Beaufort County, which is a pretty shallow creek feeding into the Bull River and on into the Coosaw between Beaufort and Edisto. Report said there were “several” trout of 24 inches spotted. I don’t have more details.
I was concerned that with the front blowing in so fast with such high winds, that the trout in the shallows could be stunned and impacted. I hope Wimbee is an isolated case, but I doubt it. The other problem is that the ACE Basin/St. Helena Sound area I fish had already lost a large percentage of the oyster population to the heavy 2013 rains. With this cold hitting what had been called a resurgence of small oysters in the area at low tide and at night, these young oysters were also likely hurt. No oysters…no fish. Double whammy.
