Still tailin?

Has anybody gone the last 2 nights? Are they still in the grass?

Watched them tailing through November the last two years… I saw a handful on Saturday and they were lazily cruising/tailing. Not all that aggresive, but they were there. This was in the Stono. Water temperature is still up pretty good so I imagine they have to be around for the next four or five weeks…action trails off as the water gets cooler. Usually when the fiddlers start disappearing as the weather cools, so do the reds.

All of October is still great…don’t give up.

Went Tusday and Wednesday night. Saw a few and caught one.

Caught 3 yesterday. Some tailers but mostly cruisers.

Fish Will be in the grass until fiddlers hibernate.

Probably mid to late November.

I have never seen the grass so thick ( Fromm all the rain)

I went this Sunday morning and the fish were abundant, but not biting. I had four good presentations with the fish ignoring them. Perhaps the upcoming storm has them sketchy, or I’ve forgotten how to strip it just right, lol. But they weren’t having it today.

Water was clear as bathwater on the flat and calm wind. Weather was ideal, just no participants. Try again after Karen rolls through I guess.

Got to my flat a little later than I should have, water was already pretty high. Only saw 1 fish spooked him. Wondering if this was the last realistic time to wade?

Fished two reliable walking area on Sauturday morning around Calibouge Sound , HHI and saw no tailers and only spooked one fish while walking . Based on comments above, will keep at it as there are plenty of fiddlers still out and mud minnows appeared to be breeding , with hundreds in the marsh, with plenty of them jumping.

Redfish will be in the grass year round… they like to lay up, warm up and avoid flipper. Once the fiddlers hibernate they are pretty much done tailing. If there is a muddy spot in the the grass they will root around for worms and stuff and you will see them tailing in January and February but it is nothing like the summer and fall tailing. Mostly it is lazy tail flips but sometimes you will see a bunch of them doing a full on tailing session in the dead of winter, not very common but I have seen it. last few times I have been out it has been more laid up fish than tailers but 23 is right they usually tail though November pretty good unless the water gets REAL cold, it hasn’t the last two years…

They have been lean in the short grass last few days and very heavily busting mullet in the vicinity instead. Pretty predictable stuff with over a month of daily flooded tides. Only 10-12 shots a tide lately.
