We caught a Stingray that appeared to pregnant when her water broke. Caught the rest on video. Mom and little rays were released unharmed.

Pungo 120if they’re far enough along in development and the yolk sacs are small, they can swim away after being stress-birthed. spiny dogfish frequently do the same thing. no idea what kind of mortality occurs after the fact, but i try to give them a chance too.

Cool. Had a shark give birth while bringing her over the gunnel once. 8 inch sharks came out and hit the water swimming. Wish I had a recorder then. Thanks for sharing!
