Best , shallowest, place to find stingrays?
now that’s a question not normally seen on this site!!! Assuming your serious…why would you want to intentionally catch sting rays? They’re generally so common to catch that they are considered a nuisance.
But to answer you…
cut shrimp or live shrimp or minnows …on the bottom, sitting, near the edge of grass on low tide…
they cruise up and down the mud on the edges of grass looking for shrimp.
Or in any river or creek at any tide, time or day…just leave bait sitting on the bottom.
Thanks. Yes it was a serious question. Mostly looking for a shallow flat to do a little sight fishing with the GoPro. Not looking to catch any on the rod.
I recently went up a small creek near the stono inlet on a paddle board and was amazed at the number of stingrays I saw. I would suggest finding a shallow creek with sandy bottoms near an inlet so you have clear water and hard sand.

If you get hit by one…apply hot water, not ice water. It’s gonna hurt like a mofo.

Go fish around the Mt. Plastic Pier. Tons of huge cow nose.
Juice you been seeing those lately?
King flats at dead low in a kayak or canoe. Can’t drift a foot without stirring up 5.

Haven’t been over that way in a month or so, but they’re usually thick over there this time of the year.
Bottom fish with pieces of cut shrimp double drop rig, any of the rivers or at the surf at any of the beaches, Among the easiest fish to catch. Way more a nuisance than anything else.
kill them all. squirrels or cockroaches of the marsh. exceed carrying capacity and take resources from other fish.
interestingly, cownose, which is pelagic and not such a nuisance, considered nice table fare around parts of chesapeake i think.
I ran into a school of at least 100 of those big bull nose rays right across from the battery on the JI sewer plant flat a couple of weeks ago. right off the side of the channel where it gets shallow. They were all YUGE. Never seen that many of them together like that. was pretty wild. my nephew tossed a grub at them. took about 3 seconds to hook one. about 20 min to get it to the boat on a little 3000

I surf fished Folly last Saturday . Put a live 6 inch croaker out on my big rod hoping but not really expecting a tarpon . BOOM . A 30 pound stingray . Of course , Fishing Duo got a beautiful one off the pier…
Speaking of stingrays, how would you like have this stingray barb stuck in your leg? I wade fish quite a bit, and stingrays are always on my mind.
