Stolen 37' Intrepid

Not your average “crackhead” thief.
These were professionals. They knew what they were doing, probably not the first rodeo.

Makes you wonder if they drive around with all the tools they need in a pick-up, looking for targets of opportunity or have spotted that boat and planned this out ahead of time?

Hopefully they didn’t sawzall the motors off. Motors are probably in Miami already

That’s what I was thinking. Crane it, cut it, box it, gone.

First, Most, Biggest
I want to catch them all

When have you ever been stopped and they check motor registration I know in 15 years i never put the sticker on the motor so motors are probably easy to move plus a title from a blown one will probably work f a thief though

Yamaha outboards are the target of choice for thieves in Bahamas. There, they will also take electronics, but have particular appetite for Yammies and will take the boat just far enough away, to strip motors. Some think the ring is tied in with people smuggling/illegal aliens.

One would think a rig like that would have to have some sort of tracking/protection system just to get coverage.

You would think it would be worth installing small GPS locators somewhere in each motor and on the boat. It would not surprise me if insurance companies did not start requiring such devices on boats over a certain value.

I am posting this for a buddy of mine in Savannah. I know its a long shot up here, but I also know a LOT of people read this forum. His boat was stolen last night (on the trailer) in Savannah, GA. If anybody sees it or hears anything of it, let me know ASAP. 912-704-0107 or call the police. The boat is a 37’ Intrepid Center Console with a black wrap. Name is Nauti-Gale.

Have you seen the police report?

In reality, the boat is probably layed up somewhere in the woods and the trailer, motors, and rigging/electronics are gone.

GPS tracking are ineffective in many scenarios since the better criminals know how to deactivate them pretty easily.

Technology is there. Just have to think of how to repurpose the existing.

For the record, McAfee flagged that sight as doing some funky stuff. Just wanted to give a head’s up to those without possible ample protection.

I’m just saying, they aren’t new and rarely deter the guys in the Bahamas. They aren’t fool proof.

What was the total time span from the last time the boat was seen by your friend to when it was recovered? And how long did it take him to notice? This is definitely something to be on the watch for if there are thieves that can strip a boat that fast. Those guys were professionals. Didn’t get distracted with all of the other nice things on the boat. They had a goal, they accomplished it, they left.

It was found within 20 minutes of realizing it was stolen. I believe it was stolen overnight, and they didn’t realize it until around noon the next day. I was wrong about the motors. They are 350’s not 300’s like I said previously. Be on the lookout, Ill try to get some more info on the motors. I’m sure they are a long ways from here though. They got the motors, a downrigger, EPIRB and a wash down hose! Must have been a humdinger of a hose to take that over the electronics. Cracker Larry, they found it ditched in Effingham County off of Morgan Kessler Rd. That is sort of your neck of the woods I think. They said someone spotted it being pulled by a 15 passenger van. I bet that didn’t look suspicious. I’ve seen how much it squats an F350!
