Stolen Gear

I know this is not an inshore report but this page gets a lot more views. Two nights ago my truck was broken into downtown and 12 of my rods and reels were stolen. Which includes

-2 shimano baitrunner 6500s (the older style) on star rods
-4 penn 320gt2 on penn live bait rods
-1 shimano stradic 4000 (older white one) on clarus rod
-1 shimano stradic 2500 (older white one) on all star select rod
-2 shimano symetre 2500s on convergence rods
-1 quantum catalyst on clarus rod
-1 shimano sahara 2500 on convergence rod

If anyone comes across these rods please contact me at 843 754 0086 it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Brandon Long

BKL, sorry to hear that. I’ll bet the sorry bastards that took your stuff don’t even know how to use a fishing rod. Good luck on finding you stuff.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

Bad deal, Brandon. Its been my experience that thieves are usually idiots, so I’d check a few pawn shops near by and they may just pop up. They are probably stupid enough to run right up the street and pawn them. I doubt they are avid anglers, more like avid crack heads, and quick cash is what they want.

who knows who could have done it, this is the second time my truck has been broken into this month…first time they didnt touch any of the rods and didnt even take my garmin 3210 that was sitting on the floor board, just looked through my center console and glove box…this time the rods were taken but the gps was still there.

Curious why you kept all that in the truck after the first time.

Guess they were also.

Sorry to hear that man…I can’t stand people who steal. Got a few fishing items stolen out of my truck several years ago so I feel your pain.
I check pawn shops weekly for fishing gear…I’ll keep my eyes open!

It would be the same at my house just a different ending. . . I wouldnt miss the guy. . . Just sayin

You might want to try Ladson Flea Market. Pawn shops tend to leave a paper trail. Pawning something, they have the show a id to pawn. They might pawn 2-3 rods here and 2-3 rods there. The Flea market is a cash sale with no receipts given.

What area downtown do you live? I live downtown. Just like to know if I need to keep a better eye out.

What street downtown? I keep my rods in my car too, I don’t want to lose them to thieves.

No, i have had stuff stolen from me Izzydone, and some of it did end up at the pawn shop. They showed the pawn shop fake ids and there is a chance that they are kids who dont know much. S i would still check the pawn shops in the charleston area BKlong007

they were in my truck because i run charters…and after 12-14 hour day on the water, several days in a row, getting back home after the sun has gone down and having to be up before the sun is up, it makes little sense to haul all that gear back inside your house, especially when someone attempted to break into my house last weekend…

it was on bogard st.

Hey BK…you say this is the second time your truck was broke into and your house was almost broke into last weekend…DUDE…you either need to move or get a Gun and start defending your property man!!!..Sorry you lost your stuff…Hope you recover it!!!

Sad, sad, sad… The family of the thug the Moncks Corner guy shot breaking into his house - stealing HIS guns - is getting death threats from the family of the “victim”. Sad, sad, sad… Where’s Charles Bronson when you need him.

Check craigslist. Found these rods on there…

Hope you filed a police report. You never know when a cop will notice something out of the ordinary (like “yutes” with nice fishing gear that they obviously can’t afford). Hope you can get it back.

police report has been filed and have been following craigslist pretty close, look at that post you listed closely but those are not mine. thanks for your suggestions and hopes
