Stolen on James Island

New to the site. Had my 22’ Stiffy and a 35 yeti stolen Saturday night.

Yeti was locked in with a cable lock. They took the cable lock too, which means they probably had a key.

The yeti and the pole have hidden marks to prove it is mine. County Sheriff is involved.

Reward comes from me. I hate a thief and have means…

Sorry if I put this in the wrong spot. If so, maybe admin can move to right spot.

My road on James Island off of Harbor View got hit last Saturday night around 3am. My dog woke everyone up with barking (and evidently pushed the thieves toward my neighbors) and my neighbor ran them off with gunfire. I hope they catch them.

Sucks man hate to hear it, but why not store the items inside? Easy solution.

Where on JI? When I lived in Fort Lamar had some punk kids doing that crap in the neighborhood. Cops tracked them down and the stuff stopped.

Wow gunfire? That seems intense. Where on james island? Was the stuff in your yard or in your boat on a dock?

Gunfire seems intense when someone is stealing what you paid for with money earned while working??? I know liberals want to re-train them, right?

People will forget what you said…
People will forget what you did…
But people will never forget how you made them feel.

Capt. Justin

They have hit boats at ripley light marina too. I dont think gunfire is out of the question. They are on your property at night, and up to no good. I hate a theif. You dont have to shoot them to scare the hell out of them. Worthless bastards dont want to work for a living but think it is OK to take the stuff that you work hard for.

Sandbar said it was secured with a cable lock. Some personal items are just not meant to be stored inside and that’s not an easy solution. Maybe best solution would be being able to afford 24/7 total video surveillance. If we could legally just shoot every thief that steps foot on our property and attempts to leave with property not belonging to them, I’m sure most would get “weeded” out. Problem with shooting people is the legal ramifications and also most people don’t have the mental fortitude to really kill a human. Unless it’s abortion.

Sandbar, I hope you get your stuff back.

Lol a cable lock? It’s stupid to think your $300 cooler should be guarded by a $15 lock that can be cut by a $10 pair of Harbor Freight bolt cutters. Doesn’t take two seconds to bring it inside (where it belongs). Same with he push pole. They’re even more expensive.

Like I said I hate that it happened to someone, and think it’s bull**** to live in a world where we have to lock our **** up or it’s gone, but that’s like all these people who say their pistol got stolen out of their unlocked car overnight. Y’all know people are going to take them if they can. Lock them up INSIDE!

Agree with the shooting someone part! That’s just dumb to think you can shoot someone just for steeling your stuff. Even if you do get away with it. The court of public opinion is just as bad as real court. Plus the money for a proper attorney will far out way most anything

Had any contractors doing work at your property? My home was broken into about 3 days before the super bowl. Had A/C contractors at my home a week before. One of them kept complimenting me on my TV. Thief pried open the front door in the middle of the day. The only thing missing was the television. Wife’s laptop was right beside it and many other things of value. They even left the gaming system behind. Police dusted for prints but could not identify anything. Seems obvious to me but I hope I am wrong. Learned my lesson and had Sonitrol at the house the next day.

NO contractors. Cops say that thieves have keys to cable locks. Says they are like GMC’s only a few number of keys for all locks. Had used boat and cooler day of and was tired when I got home. Laziness will get you but I had also left the pole on the boat for months at a time. Guess I was “asking for it.”

Other boats on same street, had gear in them and they weren’t touched. Makes me feel this was personal…

"Asking for it"...That sucks that we have to live in a world like this. One thing I will give the muslim countries....you steal then they cut off your hand. Now that is a deterrent.
