Stolen trailer at Dawhoo landing sunday

2011 venture aluminum trailer. Brother in law is way pissed. Please lock your trailer to your truck. It’s seems that the boat landing is gradually getting worse. I live very close to there and see a lot of riff raff people in and out all to often. Also, do scrap yards buy trailers? Or would the thief cut it up? Not that it matters because the guys running those places are just as crooked as the people bringing it in. I personally have never had a problem there. But my dad left his truck unlocked on accident and they stole everything out of it. Maybe it’s time for a little baiting.

What time was it taken? We were there yesterday. Put in around noon and pulled out around 6. I don’t remember seeing anything sketchy, but if I can help I will.

I bet if the cost of a fishing license went up $1 or $2, we could afford to place security cameras at every public boat ramp in the state. I’d pay more just to catch one of these SOB’s.

He put in around noon and was back at 4pm. He just informed me they cut the lock off. I put my boat in Saturday and there was an officer at the ramp around 5 when I took out. I’m so sick of thieves. When they get caught the law never does anything about it. And yes I would pay for more my licenses if we could get cameras up. I’m seriously thinking since I live so close is put some cameras up to see what’s up. I honestly believe it’s the same people again and again. I was pulling out one night after gigging there and a car pulled in front of me while I was on the ramp and blocked me. Little did they know I was loaded with a 12 gauge with an extension. One got out looked down at me and decided it probably wasn’t a good idea. Yes I do carry a weapon when I gig late at night around that side of town. I don’t have a criminal record so I’m sure the gamewarden would forgive me. I have 3 kids and trust me when I say I coming home, that I am. I’m done ranting. Thanks for all y’all’s help!

That sucks, very easily could have been my trailer. I don’t know what I’d do in that situation. What to do with my boat while I’m a hour and a half from the house?

Sucks getting your trailer stolen. I like the fact we dont have to register our trailers b/c I hate giving my hard earned cash to the state but some times I wonder it that might slow down on the trailer thives?

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

Unfortunately, registering trailers or cameras at the landings won’t do anything other than cost us more money…

A bad day fishing is much better than a good day at work.

No, not in the least.

Cargo trailers (esp. enclosed trailers) are stolen on a routine basis.

The justice system has no actual concept of justice anymore. We shouldn’t be out for empty revenge, but there should be a stiff, quick, and commensurate penalty for theft.

I’m not far from purchasing a medium-sized enclosed trailer, and I’m investigating ways of deterring theft. I know I’m getting it decal’ed so that it stands out VERY bold with the location clearly marked on it “North Charleston, SC”.

It sure is a shame, that you even have to look up something like this to protect your stuff! But that’s the world we live in now!

Many times if a thief wants something you cant do enough to keep it safe.My dad told me about a friend of his who was an executive at Winchester(i think he said). anyway,it was before i was born or when i was very young. Which ever gun manufacturer its was gave their employees rare, high dollars guns, like so and so gun serial number 1 as bonuses. Dad said this guy had over the years developed a collection of rare guns from bonuses and purchasing some too and they were worth a “pile of money”. One day he was returning from vacation and notices that thieves had taken heavy equipment and tore the side off of his house and loaded up all his safes, which were bolted to the floor. Dad said the guy lost probably .5 million dollars or more worth of rare and/or expensive firearms. I am so sorry for yalls loss. (**() thieves. Check on craigs list and see if it show up. Hell, ill check on there and let you know if i see anything. i like those contraptions easy but i dont understand how the lug one works.

you don’t need forgiveness for carrying a handgun while en route to, or engaged in lawful fishing/hunting activities- i couldn’t find it, but i think the law also stipulates that it must be open carry if the angler/hunter does not possess a CWP. not sure on the higher capacity scattergun part…
