STONER(7-22-08)Ever Wonder?

Marsh Monkey and I stole a 1/2 day and hurt some gags. Nothing else to report other than a lack of bait and had to hope the sabiki would work(we didn’t bring anything). Planned on kingfishing for a bit but ended up anchored.

Flat calm- I may be a dork but not a liar!(you’ll know what I mean when the pic’s are up)

12 gags
1 ARS
bunch of BSB and others

pics please!

Not-Grounded is a full on lurker!

Couldn’t find any bait so we used what we had.

You used the sandwich your mommy packed for you?

I couldn’t believe a grown man had that in his possession. Sometimes we even wear sunscreen[:0].

I call bs on the 45’ and wonder bread…nice try…and you know what I am talking about…

PlateCharge- Actually the picture is photoshopped. I wasn’t even fishing yesterday. But I heard the bite is good in 45’. And, no, I don’t know what you are talking about. We should fish together sometime, email me your #.

Plate. You should take Courtland up on his offer. You might actually learn something rather then typing behind the key board.:slightly_smiling_face: Especially after reading your archived posts. In 4 pages of archived history this was your first and only post of catching, from what I saw. Your second post was about killing everything that came to the boat.

Wind/Waves were as bad as forecasted…hoped the weatherman would be wrong but he was not. Planed on bottom fishing in 110’ but stopped at the Eagles Nest instead. Sea Bass were thick with some real jumbos…largest was about 10 pounds, biggest I have caught to date. Limited out with 2 on board, kept nothing under 3 pounds…they are in cannible mode, cut sea bass filets were the bait of choice.

Did not see any Bluefin activity on the surface of the finder…

Between the 10# black sea bass at Eagles Nest and not seeing any bluefin activity on the fishfinder, I had a good laugh!

It was well worth the read!

Thank you

David…things must be real slow for you in the real estate biz…going way back in the archives eh??

You should have read the whole thread though (god knows you have enough time)…the 10 lb sea bass was a poke at all the exaggerated fish weights being posted at the time (solo and 23 sailfish were the biggest offenders, and I say “were” because they seem to have grown up and now post real weights)…oh and yes, you can actually see bluefin on the finder, they look like big bananas…and in January some people look for them…

Sorry I can’t post more reports for you but that would give up my identity…there are too many people on this site that have threatened to beat me up so I have to stay incognito, comprende?

Plate. Over $11 million sold so far this year. I wouldn’t exactly call that slow, now would you? Most intelligent people realize that this is a prime buying time. One great example is a cottage home in the Lakeside community of Oldfield. ML# 248661 Asking price is $399,000 and the current owner paid $499,999 12/13/06. When was the last time you saw a home in a community as nice as Oldfield for that price? Whenever you’re ready to go out and take a look call me. Cash is king right now though.

You seem to call a lot of people out, but your history on the site shows little experience. I’ll give you a tip too! Next time, try pushing out to the needle or hump for bluefin. You might have a better chance of hooking up with one rather then sitting at Eagles Nest catching black sea bass.

You ever hooked into one of those bluefins around here Mr Hahn?

No, but being you’re so connected within our fishing community you should know of this and where it was caught.

An additional state record was set January 22, when Jim Scott Middleton III, 30, of Bluffton, SC reeled in a 396-pound, 14.4 ounce Bluefin tuna. Trolling off of Hilton Head, Middleton used a ballyhoo rig with a blue and white Islander lure and 80-pound test line to catch the record fish. Middleton fought with the fish for 4 hours aboard the boat “Echo” captained by Michael Perry.

I don’t target bluefin, because the odds of catching one in our area is slim. If I go after them this year I’ll look for big bananas on the depthfinder though.

David…you certainly are good at your internet research…maybe try getting a little hands on experience.

Just so you know, that certainly is not the only one that has been caught in this area the last few years…and they are not all caught between the hump and r-7, the tybee trough that runs from the ross to the eagles nest is a hot spot as well…you see, bluefin swim thru the ocean and can be caught in many places…and yes that was a very nice fish.

Don’t forget to give Robbie his share of the credit and of course some recognition to captain Clark who spotted the school earlier that day and called them out to the location…

Solo…don’t forget the internet rule…

Internet weight divided by 5 multiplied by 2 equals actual weight…same applies to internet sales figures…that would put him at $4.4 million…not bad but a far cry from $11 million and surely not enough to share the wealth…

And Dave…before you go blowing your top and posting all of your sales for the year in defense of your statement, I am just poking fun at you bo…lighten up…
