Fished with a multi national crew today. Had the Far East and Great White North covered, throw in a Yankee and Mr.Maker’s Mark and off we went. The species proved as diverse as the crew. We started on the bottom in 130’. We fished some heavy structure and lost(well the Far East and Mr.Mark lost) alot of fish. The water was some of the clearest I’ve seen. The AJ’s were thick and we had a blast tossing big poppers at them. The explosions are pretty cool when a bunch of big donkeys are after your stuff. We moved offshore and the current was ripping in 200’. We gave the bottom a shot for a bit then went on a short troll to the North to check some other bottom. We had great conditions and got a nice waterspout show early on. Pretty day to be back out. Ended the day with 1/2 dozen mahi, a few scamps, some pinks, cubera, hake, AJ’s, red snapper and a sail. The best part is we let the Canuck reel most of it in. It’s nice to have some willing to take the rod when a donkey eats your chit, thanks Dennis.

Hake, yes. That means that you were right on top of the rock. We see them a bit while diving, but they are usually up into a crevice. I’ve yet to see them free swimming.
thanks for the trip and giving the father in law the opportunity to catch his first sailfish and dolphin. I would not have lost so many fish if I would have remembered the Makers Mark…

You’re welcome anytime, seriously. We were just discussing how nice it is to fish with an experienced crew, you’re a good guy to have on the boat. Thanks for the hard work in preperation for the trip.
