STONER(9-28-08)Seeing Red(PART WHATEVER)! pic on

PJ was the only one brave(read: stupid) enough to go fishing with me in the treacherous seas today. We rounded the beach about 7:30 and seas were enormous(if you were and ant). We made way at 30+ for 40 miles to about 100’. Jigged bait and went about our business. PJ had the hot hand today, not in a gay way, but in a manly fish killing kind of way. We proceeded to load the box with all sorts of the usual bottom goodies. Triggers, b-liners, ARS and gags were flying over the rails(and it was just the 2 of us). The current was ripping SW to NE about 3 kts… Around 2 PM the tide/current went slack and the big reds started biting. Fortunately, we had ditched all but one of the other 6 or so snapper we got earlier without measuring(they were close). A 32", 31", and a 29" red came over the rail in about 45 minutes, add that to the 20" in the box, and we were DONE! Fired up the ride and rode the swell in just shy of 45mph. Sweet Day!(should have pics up tomorrow)

Trust me, while your pinned down taking enemy fire and you call in for air support and you hear a jets afterburner crackin the air overhead would be the most liberating sound you could ever ask for. I haven’t experienced that first hand in actual combat, but I have trained in a similar scenario where it still makes the hair stand up on your body.

Jeez people! Why don’t some of you go fishing. Ya’ll leave all the work up to me.

BTW- got some grouper, triggers and b-liners yesterday. Lost one more stud and a 200# dusky. Out at 42 and in at 42. I need a faster boat.

Very nice:sunglasses:.

Or you could cheap out and go with a more economical ride like this one.

First boat- I’ll buy if you pay for fuel.
Second boat- I had a “three hour tour” in a similar vehicle. You couldn’t give me that POS.

2 solid days of fishing. That’s alright!

We were looking at going Saturday, but its not looking too good now.

Dam it. That one hurt :face_with_head_bandage:
