STONER(A couple days 8/7-8/15)

Been on the hill with vacation and a screw in my ankle. Pre-fished the Beaufort BMI(friday), skipped the tournament and fun- fished Sat., took my son out on Monday and just got back in today ahead of the slow moving squall line. I have changed my fishing a bit and am spending a bit more time on the anchor, we are really having a blast. Chicken rigging, live baiting(drift rigs), and big baits on the bottom. I didn’t fish more than 100’ on any day.

My new OTI(400g) and Accurate BX2-600 have been spanking the big gags. Boated 2 internet 30#er’s along with limits on the other days. Many ARS met there maker as well with limits on 3 of the 4 trips. B-liners are thick, and good size ones for that depth. For those of you that wear gold chains, many mercury missiles including 4 kings over 30# and a daymaker over 40# were brought boatside(of course this one was caught on tournament day after we decided not to fish, Murphy’s Law in full effect.

Here are a few photos:

That’s it for now…

Courtland,

You should of seen the smile on “Bubba’s” face after we finished up fileting all those fish out!! He’ll remember this trip for the rest of his life (thank you). All he could talk about on the way home was grouper and kings cooking on the grill. That king in your hands must of been one of the many who robbed your circle hooks on top. When I was cleaning him I hit something in his stomach with the knife that just didn’t feel right. It eneded up being a 9/0 circle hook with a (stoner) custom offset in the shank!!

If I can figure out how to download the pictures from my phone I’ll post them too of the previous trips.

Next trip is on me and lets go to scamp alley!

Thank you again…
