We decided to have a little Red Snapper Tourney at Southern Drawl Outfitters this weekend.
No entry fee. First place for biggest is $100 gift certificate and First place loser is $50 for the smallest, by weight. Fish may be weighed up until Monday although fish must be caught during the legal open season, ending Sunday at 11:59PM.
We got an entry from my boat today that went #30.42. Congrats Andrew, I think you are in the lead.
Getting ready
Curt and Neil getting in on the action
It was actually a lot tougher to scratch out our limit than the last few trips would have lead us to believe. We did manage our limit as well as a few gags, scamps and a strawberry grouper. Of course the triggers and c bass as well.Half the quality fish were on jigs.
Have another crew tomorrow including 2 kids, hoping they can give Andrew a run for his money.
No rings tails or cudas. Had two kings 20 and 30lb range while anchored.
On a different note, Im looking for a large print of live oaks overhanging a dirt road (entrance of plantation, etc. Do you have any similar pics in your photo portfolio?

Yes, any specific plantation you’re looking for? I’ve got a huge library from the last few years, but always looking for an excuse to shoot more.
Red Snapper have never been abundant here like they are in the gulf. Just like they don’t have that many black bass there. This is one reason I have never understood this closure.
