It’s gotta be me. So I went by myself. Cape Cod for three days with Capt.Dom of Coastal Sportfishing Charters. We fished the first day, just me. The second day with 2 others and got blown out the third and came home a day early. Here is the report:
I flew into Boston on Monday and drove an hour or so south to my hotel in Plymouth, where the big rock is.
Called the captain and went to the marina in Green Harbor to meet him and find my way in the light so I knew the route the next morning. Green Harbour is the quintisential New England fishing villagge.
WE set out the next morning on the hunt for charlie. Since it was just me, I brought along some light tackle gear in hope of an epic battle on light gear. For the morning it was stripah’s and blues. We were fishing plugs and jigs only.
The idea is that the tuna feed below the whales, so sometimes you end up pretty close. Mostly humpbacks, but some minke’s and pilot’s as well.
Late on day one we found some tuna off the whales. They were up top finning and sunning by the beach. A nice battle ensued after I came tight on a vicious feed.
i lived in Mass for 10 years and loved the fishing as a teenager both in salt and fresh water before coming back home to SC. Other than the water always being cold, the fish are great catches up there. Good job and report
