Yesterday’s Charter
We do pay the price here in the form of long runs. Yet, a holiday weekend with 30mph cruise speed conditions and we saw 2 boats all day and they were from a distance. We worked a ledge for about 1.5 miles, unhindered. Current with the wind made it difficult to hold bottom but with drop and reel fishing all day, who cares.
?
It was definitely Tuan’s day as the #40(boga verified) Gag was on the first drop. It rocked him up and he opened the bail, let him come out of the hole then finished the job. He backed that up with a #50 AJ and switched to lighter tackle and started on the big triggers.?
?
Jeff finally pulled out the only tuna, on the jig no less, as we tried in vain to get them to the surface. It was the second to last drift and I smelled the bait ball which is a sure sign of tuna in the area, the tuna came just after.?
?
Bill wrestled with demons in the form of lost jigs to cuda’s, lost fish to sharks and just a general bent rod all day long. He usually fishes the front of the boat and I don’t pay him much mind until the fish is boat side, low maintenance for sure.?
?
Most bigger fish were Boga’d so we had some real weights. Everyone got a fish right at #50.
?
We do have an awesome fishery here, you just have to take what the ocean gives you!
Special thanks to Jeff for hooking me and my son up!
