Stoners at folly

Dropped 1 pot in hopes of a blue crab dinner. I caught 12 stone crabs, all crabs were big but 2 had small claws and 2 had 1 claw. I kept 8 claws that happened to be all right claws. There was 1 beat up blue crab that made the mistake of getting in the pot with stone crabs. I dont know if its just location or blue crabs are afraid of stone crabs. Every time i drop a pot i struggle to catch blue crabs. Last time i caught a 5 gallon bucket of hermit crabs.

Last time

Nothing wrong with getting stoned LOL

Well done! I’ve got the munchies now!

I see at least 8 blues in there with that pot full of hermits. That’s a good bit of stones though, enjoy!

Nice stones dude but it looks like your trap is not set up like the commercial guys. The rebar should be on the other end of the trap. That might explain all the hermit crabs. As far as catching blue crab, you might want to set it a little farther inland,I bet you caught those stone crabs within sight of the ocean.A few things to think about but I would rather have the stoners anyway and it looks like you have a good set up for that.Enjoyed the report and pics, thanks man.

Your reports are excellent. Thanks for the good read as always. It’s impressive at the diversity of your game and it’s easy to see how you love the outdoors. Keep um up 40, good stuff:smiley:
