Stono 11/11

TexasRed, his son, and I got started about 8:30 out of Limehouse. Fished a couple areas close and caught 4 trout and an overslot red before catching some shrimp. Headed south and worked a shoreline and boated 2 more reds heading to Wadmalaw Sound. I was hoping the water had cleared, but my spots were still dirty. Messed around a lot for just 2 trout. Back to the river to use the live bait. Only needed to stop at one dock to catch 7 reds in short order on shrimp rigged on a light carolina rig.

Total for the day was 8 trout with 2 keepers and 10 reds with 6 in the slot and 4 over. Also tagged 7 of the reds today.

Good job, Haiball and TR. How big was the biggest trout and red?

Nicely done, Hairball. Where do you get tags? Can anyone tag a fish?

The biggest trout was about 17; Red was 26.25, but TR had a pig jump out of the boat before being measured.

Hot bait for the morning was Z-Man Paddlerz in Redbone color. Caught the severl trout and redfish working the bank and grass. HB was throwing the same and landed several trout then switched to something else. He’ll have to report on what it was. Finished the day fishing the docks with live skrimps on Carolina rigs. I would venture a guess at the size of the red that escaped, but I stink at guessing size. Probably in the 25-27" range and very fat and healthy.

Sorry TR, I can’t comment on what 4" Z-man Paddlerz in Bad Shad color on a 1/8 ounce ball jighead I switched to. Apparently there is some concern from others that I am too specific with my Stono posts.

It’s a big area HB. Too bad you upset someone though. But, I thought that’s what this site was all about to teach others what the fish are biting. Everyone knows that we could provide an exact spot, but not the tide and you could spend weeks figuring out the tides stages that produce fish. That weekend one spot was producing consistently and then “bam!” like a lightswitch, the bite turned off. I have read your post several times and even if you knew the area well, you would have a hard time figuring out anything specific. Lol. He11, I was on the boat and don’t know exactly where we were several times. General area…yes. Exact…no.
