On the water this morning at 8:30 with my dad out of Limehouse. Water temp was 52-53 and the air temp wasn’t bad except for a 10-15 kts breeze with periods above that. I was able to find some shrimp still hanging around in the deeper holes; enough for the day. Stopped at a few places and saw a fish or two. We were on are way to a spot and saw three gulls periodically diving along a shoreline. I almost kept going, not thinking much of just three gulls. However, Even from several hundreds yards away I could see some surface commotion. Turned out to be a large school (50+) of reds running up and down the bank. At times it they were pushing so much water it looked like a solid wall of moving water. They were picky and for the most part wanted just live shrimp. We started with a couple low to mid slot fish then bigger fish from there with 2 just over slot and 2 just under the 30" mark. It was hard keeping track of the school with the windy conditions and trying not to spook them with the inevitable hull slap.
