BA as in the “boat average”. Had a tough time getting fish hooked or in the boat today. Between the thrown hooks, rubber hooks, and cut offs on oysters I only put 2 out of 12 in the boat today. The two were reds at 16 and 25" which were tagged and released. The most frustrating part of the day was pulling up between two docks and seeing a shcool of at least a dozen reds swirling on bait. First cast I got a nice bump on a Z-man paddlerz. Second cast a seagull flies through the line, gets tangled and does a nose dive into the middle of the school. After that they wouldn’t touch anything:face_with_head_bandage:. All were redfish except one trout right before getting back to the ramp.
The good is that I saw small bait and finger mullet and there were more schools of reds in the river following the bait in. Plenty of overslot fish out there. I had three breakoffs and one extended fight that ended in a pulled hook with solid 25-30" reds.
