Well, I reckon it’s time to dust the kayak off and get back on them. Were you holding on to that channel marker cathcing fish like last time? How big was the red? Glad to see you’re catching some fish out of that spot. Give me a shout we need to get up and fish it.

Matt

good job Willy!

I picked up one of those new mirrolures in white/silver with an ec flash.

I may try it out today around my old haunts.

The less people know about how sausages and laws are made, the better they’ll sleep at night.

whtz, remember where mud caught that big spottail that day?there were singles swimming up and down the whole bank.they just werent eating much.i did manage a 16 incher, and missed a bigger one.but, that was in 5 hours.the trout were around the big dock,i anchored about 20 ft away and casted all around and under it.they were also just to the front of the big dock and would hit the grub as it got close to the bottom.next week?im up for it,just let me know when you can go.bring plenty of chickens.i went through a pack and some extras easy.by the way,i saw alot of minnows? in the water.you might try some bait too.get that cobra out and get it ready.i paddled down the other way from the landin and found some interesting spots to try later as well.good to hear from you. jerms-i got to get out in the cooper with you this year.remeber last time i was coming and couldnt.you caught all them spottails-my luck.:face_with_head_bandage:i just realized you got yaks jerms.maybe next week you could meet up with whtz and me in the stono?

I’ll get it all together this weekend - I need to check the tides for next week, what tide were you fishing the other day? Boy I’d like to be able to sight cast to some reds on that oyster bank - did I tell you about the 32" nanny i caught to the right of that dock in November? She was a horse!

that creek that goes under that dock up in that marsh is a super hi-way for spottails thats for sure.thats why i like that place.its close, you can catch big spottails and trout in one area.love it!im gonna fish it all year this year.-i started at dead low and fished incoming.they were cruisin the whole bank, but i saw the most down by the concrete pieces/shell bank.i want that big trout i lost under the dock last year.:stuck_out_tongue:

You are right about that - there are some very nice fish in a pretty small area. I’ll be moving back to Aiken in about a month so I am going to fish it as much as I can until then.

Matt

Sounds like a plan - I reckon I’ll go see Dee of at Haddrell’s and procure some bait. It’s been so long since I’ve been in there I imagine he’s forgotten who I am. Were you catching them on nothing but electric chicken?

that and a dark green glitter curly tail grub ,mostly the chicken though.caught one on a suspending mirrolure also.1 on a original rapala i painted like a trout.

I fished the stono yesterday too, from edgewater. took my buddy kayaking for the first time and he hooked up a monster red but broke him off in the grass. I caught a decent trout ~14" im guessing. electric chicken is where its at though.

were they hitting yours on the way down?i was hooking them in about 6 ft of water right before it would hit bottom.caught maybe 3 or 4 on retrieve.did you see singles as far as the spottails?i saw bunches of them.you gotts to love the stono.:stuck_out_tongue:
