Stono 4/7

My son and I left from Limehouse around 8 looking for some trout. On the last of the incoming I caught 1 15" trout at the first spot. Nothing at the second spot. On to spot three and start changing it up for reds. One slot red lost at the boat on a mud minnow. I was about 30-45 minutes early at each spot, but too impatient to wait so I kept moving. Worked about a 1/8 mile of shoreline and got one good bump on a Z-man Paddlerz and the small school immediately spooked. Back to some docks with mud minnows and got two reds at one and a nice over slot at another before a snowbird blew up the whole river with his wake and then the wind cranked up.

Bite was slow and not many reds seen. Water temp 59. Water clarity has sucked since February.

Iain, good morning for you and your son!!
I planned on being on the Stono by 8am. Didn’t work out so well…I got to the landing, launched the boat, pulled away from the dock and realized that I left my PFD at home!!! 90 minutes later I was back on the water, too late. Spent the rest of the day running from spot to spot trying to catch something besides stingrays! no luck.

Nice fish and pic!
