Stono 5/19

My son and I put in at Limehouse just after 7 AM and started fishing immediately with Z-man paddlerz. My son struck first with an small flounder; tagged and released. Shortly thereafter I hooked into a 26" red also tagged. Ran over to the bait spot and it was loaded with mullet, but no shrimp. Set up next to some docks and fished with live mullet on a Carolina rig. Caught two reds; first was 32.25" and the second was 24.5".

Ran to the south where I picked up a slot red and then my son a 15" flounder on the trolling motor. Ran further into Wadmalaw sound for a trout spot for the incoming tide. Only caught 1 15" trout, but it made a nice cooler mate for the flounder. Ran back to work the banks for reds and that is were the frustration began. The reds were only interested in the back half of the bait; Z-man or mullet it didn’t matter. Went 0 for 6. Caught one more small trout before heading in under threatening skies. A total of 4 reds all tagged, 2 trout, and 2 flounder.

My friends hooked up with 3 keepers and lost 4 under the docks.
