Stono 7/15

Got out this morning at Limehouse right after the high tide. Caught 1 17" trout right away on a Z-man Padderlz pitched between dock pilings. Ran towards Wadmalaw sound to some better trout spots, but only got one dink on a trout trick. Started looking for some reds as the water was coming out of the marsh. Spent about 30 mins trying to get a shot at some reds blasting bait in tall grass. Gave up an went to catch some bait. Found a big school of reds while throwing the net that didn’t want to eat. Came back to the first spot with the water out of the grass. They were still chasing bait, but I really had to work at getting them to bite mullet under a float. Caught 5; 2 rats and 3 upper slot. Grabbed some more bait on the way back north and stopped at my go to dock. It was loaded up with overslot reds, but they too had lock jaw. With a lot of effort I pulled a hook on a beast that looked like a nuclear sub surfacing and boated another 27" on shrimp. Had a db in a Sea Ray motor yacht come through and blow me up and rattle every floating dock on that stretch of the river. Called it a day after that.

Sounds like a typical day on the stono with the boats haha

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.
