Stono/Folly questions?

Is this a good spot?
And how would you fish it?
And what bait would you use?
Looking to get started salt water fishing and mostly want some fish to eat.
Have 1700cc SeaPro and new to boating and fishing from it so any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

as someone else said on your other post, check out the DNR website. It gives a lot of good, free information about fishing in the lowcountry. http://www.dnr.sc.gov/fishing.html

For the past 4 years I’ve fished from the Sol Legare ramp, past the Folly Ramp, and the creeks out to the Lighthouse. Since you’re fishing “to eat” you need slot reds, trout, flounder. They’re in all the usual places (bars, creekmouths, docks). I haven’t found the big flounder yet- very few keepers in the spots I’ve worked so far. The usual live bait under a float, cut or live on the bottom, work fine. I’ve caught Folly keeper reds-trout-flounder on Gulp and various grubs as well. Just start putting in the time.
