Stono/Folly Saturday

Went out at 7 yesterday until noon. Knew tide & cold front was against us but thought maybe since it’s probably the best time of the year to put fish in the boat during any tide then we’d get a few sheep, trout, or reds… nope. Big tide change so the current was ripping. Still saw bait and what looked to be trout here and there chase bait (unsure) but got nothing. fiddlers for sheep, chunk mullet under cork and filets under corks (docks and banks) for reds… but didn’t even get a crab to bite.

To whom ever has a nice teal color flats boat with an Etec engine anchored in the Folly, saw your boat was taking on a lot of water. Tried to find a number or some way to contact you but couldn’t find anything. Could not turn bilge on due to battery underwater. When we left yesterday the engine was still above water but if you haven’t already, you need to haul tail out there and snag it out. Couldn’t figure out whether to pull it to shore or not… too afraid of people taking or messing with your stuff so prayed you got/get out there quick enough.

Fished Folly on Friday and all we got was a wind wupping as well. We were fishing around some creek mouths with live MM and shrimp and threw plenty of artificials to no luck. On Saturday, just fished off the dock for a couple of hours before low tide and caught one red just under slot on a MM on a bottom rig. On Friday, we saw bait in the areas we were fishing and had plenty of bait stolen but couldn’t get anything of size to bite.

Sheeps were chewing for us fri and sat pretty good. Caught around 30 each time, most 2-3lbers with a few nicer fish. One big ole pig around 9. Size is down so far this year. Only kept 5 total.
