well you all know that if i’m catching any sheep then the bite is on (since my luck with them this spring has been slow!)! went to the first spot where i’ve seen them for over a month now but couldn’t pay them to eat a crab… well, they still didn’t bite. opps called me and said to try another dock. went to that dock and couldn’t get a bite until i sacrificed 3 fiddlers by crushing them in my hand and letting the pieces float to the bottom of the pole i was fishing (sorry fiddlers… had to do it). right away, hooked into a big guy but wrapped me around a pole. picked up 2 right after him and then nothing! so went to the next place… no bites… crushed a few fiddlers and wham! picked up a few more and then nothing! went to the next dock (which was actually the first dock that i didn’t get anything). crushed a few fiddlers… wham! then nothing… stayed there for a while… no bites… you guessed it… crushed a few more fiddlers and let them sink down… wham! so obviously the key for my luck was having to pay the toll of crushing a few fiddlers, chumming with them, and then pick up 2 or 3 right after doing so.
also missed one good red and got one nice slot to the boat. great day of fishing and hoping to get out there soon.
