Quick report. My father was in town and, while he’s a solid fisherman up north, I always seem to have no or slow luck with the fish when he comes in town. So took him to a spot that’s been producing for me and got about a dozen reds. It’s been a looong time since I’ve fished with my father and did pretty good catching fish. He had a blast and still can’t believe how strong a red is at any size.
Once again I screwed up and forgot shrimp. They “mouthed” the cut mullet but the biiig reds we caught didn’t hesitate and slammed him. Water was about 52 degrees fishing structure (well, my depth finder said that temp in the morning). Caught everything on the beginning of incoming. Beautiful day.
